Epsom Salts-Many Uses for Your Health & Beauty

Did you know that epsom salts can be used to soften skin, treat eczema, wash oily hair, and relax aching muscles?
Epsom salts are  inexpensive and easy to find.
Epsom salts can be found at the drugstore, grocery store, and even at the 99 cent store!
Indulge yourself in a nice, long, bath with epsom salts added. To make your bath even more enjoyable, add an essential oil such as lavender or add your favorite bubble bath.
Here are some of the uses of epsom salts:
1.Muscle relaxer: Epsom salts have been used for decades to relax tight muscles and reduce inflammation. Add two cups of the salts to bath water and soak away the stress.
2.Detoxify: Soak in the salts and flush toxins from your body.
3.Sleep Aid: Soaking in a bath of epsom salts can help to restore magnesium levels, which are needed for sound sleep.
4.To fade bruises- Epsom salts will fade bruises when added to bath water.
5.To soften skin- Use epsom salts in the shower, as a scrub, by massaging it into your wet skin.
6.Facial cleanser: To cleanse your face, mix a half-teaspoon of epsom salt with your regular cleansing cream. Just massage into skin and rinse with cold water.
7.Facial mask: Apply the mask to damp skin. For normal to oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt. For normal to dry skin, mix 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons of mayonnaise and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt.
8.Foot soak: Soothe aches, remove odors and soften rough skin with a foot soak. Add 1/2 cup of epsom salt to a large pan of warm water. Soak feet for as long as it feels right. Rinse and dry.
9.Skin exfoliator: Massage handfuls of epsom salt over your wet skin, starting with your feet and continuing up towards the face. Have a bath to rinse.
10.Shampoo oily hair: Epsom salt soaks up excess oil from hair. Add 9 tablespoons of epsom salt to 1/2 cup of oily hair shampoo. Apply one tablespoon of the liquid to your hair when it is dry; rinse with cold water. Pour a cup of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar through the hair, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.
11.To remove hairspray or hair gel buildup: Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup epsom salt. Combine, cover and let set for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture into your dry hair and leave in for 20 minutes. Shampoo and your hair will be soft and silky.
12.Splinter remover: Soak the splinter affected area in epsom salt, and it will draw out the splinter.
